Sylvestris Kennels Breeding Programme Aims – May 2009
Sylvestris Kennels aims to select the best matched animals showing the following criteria. In order of significance;
• Breed Type – Chocolate and Black Labrador Retrievers
• Health – All breeding animals to be BVA elbow and hip scored and eye tested. DNA testing is also preferred.
• Temperament – dogs to be gentle and obedient, for companionship and suitability for families.
• Working Ability – whilst our dogs are not primarily bred as working dogs, their lineage allows them the ability to perform tasks and is a strength our dogs retain.
Sylvestris Kennels Labrador Retriever Breeding Strengths
Currently our breeding programme has two main recognisable strengths;
• Companionship
• Gentle Nature
Our current aim is to combine these strengths with working ability to improve the trainability of our friendly dogs.
